My beautiful sister was brave enough :) to come be my model for a couple of hours. I was really excited about everything I learned at a previous photography workshop that I attended – T&T Dynamite Workshop. I probably should have posted about that first but oh well . . . those will come shortly. I learned a lot from the workshop– one of my favorite concepts which when you say it sounds so silly and easy but then when you actually go and do it — well, it can be challenging. The concept was “how do you evoke emotion out of your subjects.?” Not only evoking emotion but evoking “natural emotion.” And really it comes down to how you act as the photographer– because how you act or “direct” distinctly shows in your subjects and your photographs.
So, my goal for the shoot was to evoke different emotions while making the model (my sister) look natural and beautiful all at the same time. . . and, of course, have a BLAST! Because really . . . that is always a rule :)
Thanks Jess for being my model and for trusting me even when you felt completely silly . . . you are awesome!

This was a fabulous session with just the girls. This mother is one of the strongest women I know as her husband has been gone serving our country! She is such a wonderful mother to her daughters. It was fun to capture this moment in their lives. We are so glad that now husband and daddy is safely back with his girls.

This session was a blast — even though we woke up at 4:30am to get ready to go. (actually I woke up at 3am thinking I was going to not hear my alarm and then I began thinking about the shoot and did not fall back to sleep) Craziness! It was freezing cold and early but it made for some beautiful photographs next to Lake Tahoe.
I have decided to showcase this session so that you can see a lot of the images. If you go HERE — on my website, you will be able to view them!
Enjoy!
